Flickering flames of light
Sizzling blaze of delight
A glowing flower of life
Red, orange, and yellow
Calling out to me as if to say hello
I will not approach you
For despite your symphony of laughter
One touch will lead to disaster
Splashing shimmer of night
Chaotic current of might
Flowing desert of life
Long, wide, and deep
A crashing wave of fun
I will not dive in
For refreshing as you might appear
I may never come up for air
Twisted whispers in my ear
Invisible spirits of cheer
magical strands of life
Scalding, freezing, and fine
A dancing stream of mirth
I will not trust you
For loyal as you seem to be
I can not expect you to carry me
Richly rocky world of dirt
Colorful sea of art
Dusty ocean of life
Tall, short, and flat
Cracked yet beautiful plain
I will not embrace you
For though it feels good to walk in your presence
one false move and you leave me breathless
