But I call bull

I learned it the hard way

I let you go

Expecting a swift return

But instead of a warm embrace

You didn’t even look back

You just left me in your dust

I called your bluff 

Or so I thought

You let me go 

And go I did

Expecting you to follow

You confirmed my deepened fears

Why won’t you come back?

I jump at every knock

I wait anxiously by the phone

Ask me to come home

Get down on your hands and knees

Beg for me 

Show me I’m worth the trouble

My hope goes unanswered 

My deepest fears confirmed

Why did I ever let you go?

I don’t feel loved at all

Only unwanted 

Why did I ever leave? 

If I could go back in time

I would tell you how I feel

I would never leave your side 

Now it’s too late 

At least you’re happy

I am anything but happy
